Our story

The Story of us - What began as a small shared vision between a husband and wife has grown into a true passion. My husband's extensive travels throughout his airline career gave him a deep appreciation for beautiful, well-run accommodations. And with my naturally compassionate nature, I found a genuine spark in creating an exceptional experience for guests who value cleanliness, comfort, and heartfelt hospitality.

Together, we transformed our first home into a cozy, thoughtfully designed apartment — with support from the City of Barrie. Every detail was our own: the style, the paint colours, the furniture, and the décor — all carefully chosen around the demands of a busy family and work life. When the airline industry was hit hard during the COVID years, my husband turned a difficult time into an opportunity. He discovered a love for building and creating with his hands, and with the help of a few trusted professionals, he built the very unit we are proud to call Barrie's premier short-term rental — from the ground up.

Over the years, we've gained invaluable experience and knowledge in hosting, and we've loved every moment of it. From welcoming couples for a romantic weekend retreat, to hosting the many doctors and professionals who have made us their home away from home — every guest means the world to us.

As a small, independently owned business, transparency and genuine connection are at the heart of everything we do. We never want our guests to feel like just another booking — you are a person, and we treat you that way. That means open, honest communication from your very first message to the moment you check out, and a real commitment to making sure your experience exceeds your expectations every single time.

We believe communication is everything. Our goal is simple: to make you feel truly at home from the moment you arrive. From our seamless keyless entry system to our meticulous attention to cleanliness and every thoughtful amenity in between, you'll feel completely taken care of every step of the way.

Thank you for considering us for your next stay in Barrie, Ontario. We would be honoured to host you.

Barrie story

The Story of Barrie - The city of Barrie begins long before the early European settlers came to this area north of the modern city of Toronto. Kempenfelt bay in Lake Simcoe, used its’ western shores as a place of rest for the ancient portage route connecting Lake Simcoe to the Nottawasaga River and Lake Huron.

The War of 1812 brought increased activity to the area. As the war ended, settlers came and planted the first seeds of what will be known as the city of Barrie. The city itself was named in honour of British Admiral Sir Robert Barrie. The area became established as a village in 1854, later incorporated as a town in 1870 and then officially as a city in 1959.

As the city grew, it began exporting local resources, and the long-anticipated railway connection in 1865 joined Barrie to the City of York, opening up industry and trade.

As the city was growing, exports of local resources had started. The much anticipated railway connecting Barrie to the City of York opened up and industry and trade began. The construction of Highway 400 in 1950 put Barrie on the map. It gave tourists easy access to this beautiful city by the bay and forever cementing it a favourite destination forfanily fun in Central Ontario.

Today, Barrie and its historic downtown and waterfront area are considered necessities to the local economy. Together with its redeveloped waterfront, green space, parkland along the lakeshore, and its downtown Dunlop Street lined with specialty shops, boutiques, pubs, and restaurants, more than 145,000, residents call Barrie home. Barrie continues to be one of Canada's fastest growing cities — a vibrant, welcoming community that beautifully balances its rich heritage with modern living.
